Beyond the daily page

Daily pages are for the moment. Freeform notes are for ideas that outlive a single day — essays, research threads, project canvases, long letters to yourself.

The Notes library presents them as a responsive grid with short previews so you can scan without opening every file.

Creating a note

From Notes, enter a title and create. You get a dedicated canvas — the same TipTap editor as today, without the daily constraint.

Name notes for retrieval. Future-you will thank present-you for titles that mean something a month later.

Reading the grid

Each card shows enough text to remember the thread. Open when a preview hooks you. Leave the rest alone.

If a note belongs to a different life, switch profiles instead of mixing libraries.

Keep the library light

Archive or delete when a note no longer earns space. A calm library is easier to trust than an endless attic.

Good candidates for freeform notes

• Project canvases that will last longer than a week
• Research threads with sources and questions
• Personal essays or letters to yourself
• Decision logs you expect to revisit

Daily pages remain the capture layer. The library is where capture becomes a reusable artifact.

Scanning without drowning

Trust previews. If the first lines do not remind you why the note exists, rename it or merge it into a clearer home. Titles and first sentences are retrieval UX — treat them with care.
